The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux is an exclusive family-run boutique hotel hidden away in the medieval fortified city of Mdina, the old capital of Malta. It is makes part of the XARA COLLECTION brand.
What are you doing?
Perched on centuries-old bastions, and surrounded by stunning baroque architecture, this 5-Star hotel caters for the individual traveller, mini-groups enjoying a cultural stay and corporate travellers. Secluded and private, it provides the perfect setting for weddings and honeymoons.
My clients
We spent 4 nights at the Xara including bridal preparation and after our wedding day and the service was flawless. Breakfast was excellent, our suite spotless, and staff were extremely helpful and made our stay a delight. Special mention to Petra and Redianne who regularly assisted us with a smile. Thanks so much and we will be back!

- Nancy SandilandsMy wife and I stayed at the Xara Palace Relais and Chateaux for four nights. The location is stunning. The staff are all outstanding, helpful and personable. We rented a car and I was concerned about parking but the staff emailed me a map showing parking outside of the main gate since driving inside the city walls is limited. It was an easy walk from the parking to the hotel just inside the city gate main entrance. The hotel has a quiet elegance with a beautiful central courtyard. Our room overlooked the countryside and was tastefully decorated. Mdina at night without the hordes of tourists is spectacular. This hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Malta has to offer. Nicki Paris was particularly helpful in guiding us to various sites on the island. Breakfast in the morning is fantastic. Give the staff what you want for the next day and all is handled from there. The location for breakfast and the view each morning is breath taking. This is a great place to see Malta.
